friends horrified of these Collector mag Subjects
It is not unusual for a Collector subject to learn about their magazine debut from a horrified friend who couldn’t believe what was written about them. Marlene Wood’s friend was shocked when she saw the story “Hats & Hookers” about the Rose Bowl hat diva who used to work as an undercover cop. Although the article itself was rather tame, the headline was so salacious that it led the casual observer to believe that she was an actual prostitute. Her phone was ringing off the hook by concerned friends who hadn’t made it past the headline. Wood doesn’t mind. Ever since the article hit the street, she has been selling like crazy, up to $2,000 at Santa Monica Airport and PCC. She had already made a couple thousand dollar at the Rose Bowl and it wasn’t even noon yet. At the July Rose Bowl, Wood offered more than just toppers. Long Beach Antique Mall owner Sponsors 3-month Octo-ban
Long Beach Antique Mall owner Andrew Jurkiewicz is sponsoring a three-month moratorium on any photos of the octo-mom. After considerable pressure from his 50 dealers, he decided to commemorate his 15th year in business with a humanitarian act. Collector magazine for the next three months will be a “No Octo-mom Zone.”
