National conference rejects Social media Campaign

Frank! suffered his first crushing defeat when he was rejected by the preeminent Antiques & Collectibles National Association’s Conference slated for January in New Orleans.Apparently Frank! didn’t hammer with the strength of hurricane Katrina despite his best effort, and his idea for reinvigorating the antique industry, was brushed aside. They rejected his plea to have at least one seminar at their event on social networking. The antique business is no stranger to social networking: flea markets, antique shows, auctions, antique malls. These are all activities with a strong social component. New Orleans Conference hammered by Social networking Campaign

As the preeminent antiques and collectibles conference these days, Frank! is encouraging the Antiques & Collectibles National Association (ACNA) to incorporate at least one workshop on Social Networking in their upcoming educational seminar in New Orleans. First they were hit by Katrina, now they are being hammered by Frank!Since their last conference three years ago, not only has the nation changed, the industry has changed. $1,000 Sponsorships

For $1,000 a person can sponsor the Monday night dinner at the Antique & Collectible National Association’s educational and trade show entitled, “Help You Future…Buy Your Past” slated for January 10th-13th of next year. The event will be held at The Hotel Monteleone in New Orleans, Louisiana. Those who sponsor the dinner will receive a banner announcing sponsorship during the meal, a full page ad in the materials that go out to attendees, a listing on the sponsorship page of the ACNA website with a link to your site, and the sponsor may also include promotional items in the symposium packets. Aside from the main meal, the seminar will feature 13 individual classes with subjects ranging from art restoration to estate sales. The keynote speech will be given by Kyle Husfloen, who will also be giving a class on ceramics. In addition to the educational aspects, there will also be a trade show held from Monday through Wednesday. Spaces are $350.
