ebay CEO for Treasury Secretary
For those who thought e-bay’s former CEO, Meg Whitman was out of the news and prepping for retirement, they should get used to seeing her name and face just as often, but in the political arena this time.It had been rumored that she was considering running for governor of California, but if John McCain becomes elected President, it is very likely, she will have an even greater position of power.Whitman is currently McCain’s top female advisor next to his Vice Presidential running mate, Sarah Palin. Whitman addressed the crowd at the Republican National Convention, and when McCain was asked at a debate who he would select as his Treasury Secretary he resounded with a strong and certain, “Meg Whitman.”Usually, the Secretary of Defense and Secretary of State are the top cabinet positions, but in this case, with the $700 billion bailout and the crumbling economy, she would likely retain the most powerful position. In the off chance that McCain does not get elected President, it is even more likely that she will vie for Schwarzenegger’s job.
