The resurrection of Captain America

In the same fashion as Superman and Spock, Captain America has returned from the dead. It has been confirmed that Steve Rogers will be returning to the “Captain America” storyline starting with issue #600. But detail of his resurrection have not yet been revealed.Marvel Executive Editor Tom Breevort announced that Rogers will be making a comeback on July 1st as part of a five-book mini series entitled “Captain America: Reborn.” Steve Rogers was killed in “Captain America vol. 5, #25″ (March 2007) when a sniper shot him in the back when he was being brought to a federal courthouse. In the chaos that ensued, he was wounded three more times in the stomach and chest by Sharon Carter. The assassination, orchestrated by Red Skull, involves Crossbones as the sniper and Dr. Faustus posing as a psychiatrist, who gives Carter a hypnotic suggestion to shoot Captain America at a crucial moment. The Captain America comic continued publication with Rogers’ former sidekick, Bucky, having taken up the mantle. It looks like Bucky is going to have step down. "face to face" with Hitler

The first Captain America comic book sold for $7,767.50 at Heritage Galleries in Dallas on August 6. The super hero was called the “Sentinel of our Shores,” and in this issue he came “face to face” with Hitler. The cover shows him actually hitting the Nazi leader in the jaw.Captain America Comics #1 (Timely, 1941) Ranked among the ten most valuable comic issues by Overstreet, this is the first appearance of Captain America! Also debuting: Bucky and the Red Skull. The Jack Kirby cover is rightly one of the most famous in all of comics, and pure excitement was brought to the story inside by the dynamite Simon and Kirby team.
